Ronglian Innovation, Smart New Journey - The 5th National Rubber Skeleton Material Application Symposium was held in Zhangjiagang

The 5th National Rubber Carcass Material Application Seminar, hosted by the Carcass Material Professional Committee of the China Rubber Industry Association, was held in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province.

This conference was themed "Integrating Innovation, Embarking on a New Journey." More than 150 representatives from the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, including carcass materials, tires, rubber hoses and belts, and research institutions, attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Xu Wenying, President of the China Rubber Industry Association, delivered a speech. She expressed her gratitude to the attendees and experts, and also thanked Jiangsu Junma Group for its strong support of the event, giving everyone the opportunity to gather in Zhangjiagang.

Xu Wenying analyzed the impact of the Sino-US trade war on the Chinese rubber industry and the latest developments in the EU's anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Chinese tires, which are issues of great concern to the industry. She offered three suggestions on how companies can cope with the current complex situation.

First, companies should maintain strategic determination and avoid acting blindly. In the face of difficulties, they should not be hasty or reckless. For example, overseas factory construction is not something that can be accomplished overnight and requires careful consideration. Second, companies should reject low-price competition and enhance their core competitiveness. Low-price competition is unsustainable. Companies should tap into their own core competitiveness and clarify their future development direction. Third, companies should pay attention to the trends of the intelligent era and focus on core competitive elements. Intelligent AI applications in tire production and inspection have significantly improved efficiency. For example, intelligent AI detection models can significantly reduce detection costs, and detection efficiency continues to improve with learning. The combination of intelligent tires and autonomous driving expands functions from simple tire pressure and route measurement to calculating the friction between tires and the ground, providing drivers with driving references. Companies should keep pace with the intelligent era and regard digital capital, talent, core products, and corporate culture as comprehensive competitive elements.

She suggested that entrepreneurs learn from Zhangjiagang's "unity, struggle, perseverance, self-imposed pressure, and a willingness to take the lead" city culture, hoping that everyone will be inspired by the "Zhangjiagang spirit" to uphold their strategic positioning in the wave of the intelligent era, and to navigate cycles through digitalization, talent, and product innovation, jointly exploring a sustainable development path for the rubber carcass material industry.

Liu Jun, Deputy General Manager of Junma Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., as the representative of the host, extended a warm welcome and sincere respect to the attendees. He stated that Zhangjiagang, as a leading area for manufacturing transformation, its open and pragmatic character is highly consistent with the innovative and enterprising spirit of the rubber carcass material industry.

Liu Jun introduced Junma Group's development practice in Zhangjiagang for over 30 years. In terms of technological research and development, the company's research and development of high-strength, high-modulus polyester fabrics and other carcass materials have achieved industrial application. In terms of intelligent manufacturing, the newly expanded polyester fabric project of the chemical fiber company has achieved a transformation from automated to intelligent equipment; the steel cord company has built a full-process digital production line. In terms of ecological synergy, the company has collaborated with upstream and downstream enterprises, shifting from single supply and demand cooperation to in-depth linkage of joint technological research and standard construction. He hopes that through communication, a consensus can be reached to jointly promote the high-quality development of the industry.

During the conference, a meeting of the expert group of the Carcass Material Professional Committee of the China Rubber Industry Association was held to discuss the draft of the 15th Five-Year Plan for the carcass material industry, and the fourth expert group handover ceremony was held, with the awarding of appointment certificates.
